On the campus of Memorial Hospital, The Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House is a place where the families of Kern County pediatric or NICU patients can go to take a break from the hospital environment. A” home away from home” that gives the non-hospitalized part of the family a sense of normalcy in a time when their world is upside down. Overnight guests are families who live at least 25 miles from the House. Day use guest opportunities are for families who live in the Bakersfield area and don’t have the opportunity to go all the way home to take a nap, or a shower, or even just get a load of laundry done. Day and overnight amenities include: 3 bedrooms, full kitchen, shower, laundry, television, DVD, Wii, and any toiletries you might need. The Boys and Girls Club of Bakersfield has generously offered to pick up school age siblings and bring them to the Club to enjoy their daily program. |
